The research paper title page, or cover page is one of the most significant components of a research paper. It provides information regarding the author and the paper in the most concise form. The various documentation styles have their own formats for preparing the title pages for research papers. For example, the APA style asks for the inclusion of a ‘running head’ – a part of the complete title which is to be included in all the pages of the research paper – also on the title page. The MLA format prefers the title page to be a part of the first page of the research paper; yet offers the option of a separate title page also.
